The project entails the establishment of a comprehensive end-to-end Tuna processing value chain encompassing sustainable fishing practices, onshore processing, export-oriented canning, and production of valuable by-products. Specifically, the project targets the establishment of an ultra-modern tuna processing facility in the Lamu Islands, supported by a fleet of fishing vessels. This marine and blue economy development initiative is being considered as part of a broader stakeholder consultation process involving Tenere International Limited, Lamu SEZ Authority, the Government of Kenya, and other relevant governmental bodies.

Adrian is one of the leading ICT companies in the region, a service provider of Vodafone's Kenyan associate, Safaricom and M-PESA. Through this relationship with Safaricom, Adrian is one of Safaricom's local content infrastructure service providers, their key role being ensuring the telecommunication and fiber infrastructure is online always and addressing service support 24hrs. The company's expansion needs are being driven by stakeholder-driven expansion needs and network infrastructure requirements, as the African continent is still underserved in many parts. Y-Capital undertook a business and market study, underpinned the go-to-market strategy, developed a business plan, reviewed the current operational model, built a financial model, and secured funding for the project.

Y-Capital provided fundraising and financial structuring support, securing and structuring financing by identifying, negotiating, and closing deals with international banks, development funds, and other lending institutions. We served as the key intermediary between the contracted company, potential financiers, and the Government of South Sudan to align all parties on funding terms and agreements. Our team provided expert knowledge in project finance to support the EPC+F model, ensuring the financial viability and bankability of the project to attract lenders — a critical step since the completed project's future cash flow repays the loans. PIIP Kagunuzi Hydropower Project — Burundi

Hydropower Burundi 12MW

A pre-feasibility study for the Kagunuzi Hydropower Plant Project was undertaken to evaluate the technical and economic viability of the venture. Situated along the Kagunuzi River in the north of Burundi, near Ndava town in Cibitoke province, the project's anticipated energy output of 12MW was earmarked for use in the proposed new port at Bujumbura, the Gihanga projects, and various infrastructures around Bujumbura airport. The Kagunuzi Hydropower Plant holds the potential to transform Burundi by addressing its energy and food production challenges while unlocking the full agricultural and economic potential of the country's diverse landscapes.
